Tips for overseas travellers

Important! If you are not a resident of Australia or New Zealand, you may need to get a Visitor's Permit. Certain nationals need to have their passport endorsed with a Visitor's Visa before departure. This process may take up to one month. Delegates should visit the New Zealand Immigration Service pages for more information.

The New Zealand currency is cents (c) and dollars ($), with 100 cents equal to one dollar. Coins are in the denominations of 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1, and $2. There are $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 notes available. One New Zealand dollar is worth approximately 70 US cents.

There are automatic teller machines in the airport and throughout most cities, should you wish to withdraw cash on your credit or debit cards.
